2rip

Originally a native of the Pittsburgh-Cleveland rave scene, 2rip has tracked the progression of electronic dance music over the past two decades, from hosting illegal parties under Pittsburgh's West End Bridge to listing international talent like Joey Beltram & Mickey Finn at larger scale events and clubnights of his own making.

Over several years 2rip honed his skills, mixing some of the most memorable mixtapes of his time while meeting friends and network contacts across the globe. He also spent many long days and nights committed to promoting himself. By 2002, DJ 2rip was being billed on the same rosters as artists like Dieselboy, Tommy Sunshine, Kimball Collins, Darude, Irene, DJ Icey, and The X-Ecutioners.

In 2003 2rip joined Jon Carpenter as a guest on the internet based radio, Orbital Grooves. The duo gained support from a broader segment of listeners as their show was heard around the globe each week. The two quickly became the most popular DJs on the website and created the first established weekly segment ever to be hosted by the station.

Since then, 2rip & Jon Carpenter have hosted a series of one-off and weekly events that catered to a regional collective of hardcore partygoers, thus establishing the promotion label of Frontline Management which lasted for a 2 year run prior to Jon moving overseas while 2rip relocated to Washington, DC.

Since relocating, 2rip has been featured as a weekly resident on www.afterhoursdjs.org as well as occasional radio shows on XM Radio's "The Launch" (XM-80). His gig schedule has remained as busy as ever, having performed at some of the regions largest parties which includes Buzz @ Nation, Glow @ Fur, Spundae @ Metropolis and even some one-off warehouse parties in Baltimore.
